My sad journey in Kuantan

I was in Gambang Water Park Pahang recently and I took the opportunity to visit Kuantan.

In the 80’s I was in Kuantan, Telok Sisek to be precise. Places such as Taman Gelora, Padang Lalang and Teluk Sisek bring back old memories to me when I strolled along these roads. There is no more Astect, no more the old wooden bridge (has been change to a better one- a concrete bridge) even the old wooden houses with tilts are no more on side but have been replaced by bungalows.

I was amaze with the development but at the same time felt sad and as if part of me with the memories gone missing. I remembered, if we, the campus boys missed the old “Bombay bus” to campus, we gladly walked with the morning breeze. We used to laugh along the road to campus…villages will sneak a peek with a smiling face at us due to our laughter to greet us good morning.

The shop houses formally known has Dato Bahaman hostel, where I used to stay is now known as IKIP International College Hostel. Even the old main campus in Taman Gelora is under IKIP. The Remaja’s hostel during my senior years has become campus for Uitm (at lease that’s still remains)

I sense that every part of my life journey has been erased one by one and it is not worth to continue. There is nothing to look forward even the memories has gone. The only one remain is the CUT that is so deep making life is not worth the breath.

It is short sad journey for me to be back in Kuantan. I felt the loneliness, the sadness that has been haunted in me. I wish I have the magical wishes to turn back time and I wish I have not encountered such journey in life and have everyone to blame except myself…my other half felt the hurt so much until I felt it is not worth to live anymore.

Maaf …sekiranya kehadiran sebentar di Kuantan membebankan… Ohalf tidak mahu menyusahkan kerna diri telah biasa bersendirian lantas itulah kehidupan Ohalf sebenarnya.

Judging a book by its cover

Do men and book are alike?...I think we might...a good book have a good presence and attractive.

Like a book we need to be attractive….there is no doubt about it and majority knows that handsome people get on better than those less fortunate. Handsome people have to work less hard to get on. But what makes someone attractive, you will be hard pressed to see what it is that they’ve got that makes them so good looking.

They have life presence, power and personality which bring out the best in them.

To be successful, we need also these things. We need to pay attention to grooming, cultivate a character smile, look good and cool all the time thus it will carry you and come across as friendly, warm and articulate which present as attractive and good looking.
Attractiveness is also about posture and position. You need to sit or stand straight up , do not slump or otherwise you will off an aura of gloom and depression, which makes you look less attractive and not good looking.
OK...I’m on into it…let’s get grooming…yeah yeah

Working Experience

Every day, a small Ant arrives at work very early and start work immediately. She produces a lot and she was happy.

The chief, a Lion was surprised to see that the ant was working without supervision, he thought if the ant can produce so much work without supervision, wouldn’t she produce even more if she has a supervisor.

So he recruited a Cockroach who had extensive experience as supervisor and who was famous for writing excellent reports.

The cockroach’s first decision was to set-up a clocking in attendance system. He also needs a secretary to help him write and type his report and…he recruited a Spider, who managed the archives and monitored all the phone calls.

The lion was delighted with the cockroach’s report and asked him to produce graphs to describe production rates and to analyze trends, so that he could use them for presentations at Board’s meetings...so the cockroach had to buy a new computer and a laser printer and…recruited a Fly to manage the IT Department.
The Ant, who had once been so productive and relaxed, hated this new plethora of paperwork and meetings which used up most of her time…!

The lion came to the conclusion that it was high time to nominate a person in charge of the department where the ant worked.
The position was given to the Cicada, whose first decision was to buy a carpet and an ergonomic chair for his office. The new person in charge the cicada also needs a computer and a personal assistant, who he brought from his previous department, to help him prepare a work and Budget Control Strategic Optimization Plan.


The department where the ant works is now a sad place, where nobody laughs anymore and everybody has become upset. It was that time the cicada, convinced the boss, the lion, of the absolute necessity to start a climatic study of the environment. Having reviewed the charges for running the ant’s department, the lion found out that the production was much less than before.

…So he recruited the Owl, a prestigious and renowned consultant to carry on an audit and suggest solution. The owl spend three months in the department and came up with an enormous report, in several volumes, that concluded: The Department is Overstaff.

Guest who the lion fire first?

The Ant, of course, because she showed lack of motivation and had a negative attitude. Note: The characters in this fable are fictitious; any resemblance to real people or facts within the corporation is pure coincidence.

My favorite train story.

One old man is sitting with his 25 years old son in a train. The train is about to leave the station. All passengers are settling down on their own seats. As the train is moving, the young man felt excited, joy and full of curiosity. He was sitting on the window side. He puts one hand out and let the feeling of the passing air. He shouted...” Papa, see all the trees are going behind”. The old man smiled and admired his son’s feeling. Beside the young man, there was a couple sitting and listening to all the conversation between father and son. They were little annoyed and felt awkward to see the attitude of a 25 years old man behaving like a little child.

Suddenly the young man again shouted, “Papa…papa, see the pond, the animals and the clouds are moving with the train. The couple watched the young man with annoying feelings. Now it is started to rain and some rain water touches the young man’s hand. He felt the joy and close his eyes and shouted again “Papa, it’s raining, the rain water is touching me…see papa.”

The couple could not help themselves and ask the old man, “Why don’t you visit the doctor and get your son treated” The old man said “Yes, we coming from the hospital, only today my son has got his eyes for the first time of his life”.

The above story touches me personally…why?

I have a son…a child with Aspergent Sydrome – an Autism. His passion is about train as well and behaves in the same manner of the young boy above. I love him very much and give him my undivided love and attention and I know others who have not encounter with such wonderful people would not able to understand the love and fulfilling of having such child.

Biarlah...

Perjalanan hidup Ohalf banyak mengajar siapa diri ini sendiri, walaupun banyak lagi yang harus ditempuhi didalam mengisi ruang nafas kehidupan…manis dan pahit seharusnya itulah yang dirasai.

Pernah seketika ingin aku pohon pada Allah SWT agar tamatkan kehidupan ku dialam fana ini kerana aku rasa tak tertanggung atas dugaan yang menimpa…rasanya semua pasti gembira dan tiada siapa yang akan merasa kehilangan.

Setiap malam kekosongan jiwa…aku penuhi dengan kehinaan…begitulah lemahnya keimanan yang aku sangka aku perolehi…aku cuba dan aku kandas…aku cuba lagi dan aku kandas lagi…kandas dalam lembah kehinaan yang aku sendiri cari dan ingin kecapi.

Jiwa aku marah tapi pada siapa…kasih ku kosong minta dipenuhi..namum hanya degupan hati lara dan dinding yang sering ketawa melihat gelagat hina ku…dalam menikmati keseronokan.

Aku rasa biarlah aku sendiri…sendiri dalam gagal mencari…sendiri dalam kehinaan…dan sendiri dalam kealpaan…Namum dalam kehinaan ini aku tetap merayu..menyembah dan sujud pada mu Ya Allah kerana hanya pada mu Ya Allah…yang tahu sebenarnya rasa isi hati walaupun dalam senyum aku derita dan dalam pahit aku merasa.

Adalah tersurat di Luh Mahfuz yang aku dihina dalam kehidupan atas perbuatan aku sendiri…yang aku pohon dari mu Ya Allah adalah Kasih Sayang dari mu…yang sememangnya aku tidak layak menerima sebagai hamba…Amin
